Breaking the rules of embroidery

Wednesday August 21, 2019 | 10am-3pm

Location: Wellington County Museum & Archives

Break the rules of embroidery with artist provocateur Barbara Klunder as she guides you through the process of advancing your own designs and shows you the painterly potential of working with usual embroidery threads in unusual ways. Participants are asked to bring embroidery hoops, scissors, a garment to work with (preferably linen, cotton or silk), and a variety of coloured embroidery thread- the more the better.

Barbara Klunder  is a Toronto-based artist, illustrator and designer well known in the textile world for her graphic hand-knit sweaters and hand-hooked rug installations. Her work is held in private and public collections and institutions across Canada including the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Royal Ontario Museum, and the Textile Museum.
